What's the closest beach to Southport?

The 2 km long Southport (Main Beach) stretch of coastline is supported by The Southport Surf Life Saving Club. Founded in 1919, it lies just off the beginning of The Esplanade.

The Spit also offers swimming, snorkeling, diving, stand-up paddle-boarding and surfing. The northern end by The Seaway is a good place to get away from the crowds and the beach is dog friendly.
